Hey guys! Welcome to my first ever blog. For this, I have chosen a very debatable topic. When it comes to skincare, everyone has a different opinion. Like different skin types and conditions, skin care products comes in a variety of different formulations.
Although a good quality product may sometimes be on the pricier side, we all do crave for a product that actually works and doesn’t break the bank. So here are a few of my own recommendations that I am hoping you guys would like!
1. Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash:
When I say I have been in search for a good face wash for years, I actually mean it. I have scoured through every brand, every website, and every drugstore for a product that can clear up my acne and also clean my pores from all the daily gunk.
Just when I lost hope of finding something that suits my skin type, I came across clean & clear foaming face wash. I had never used this product before and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Just after 2 washes I was honestly surprised on how my skin actually felt. My acne and ingrown white heads had cleared out, my skin felt cleaner and more supple and the best part of it all, this face wash did not leave my face feeling like it would crack (I mean we all have faced that right?).
This product retails for ₹165/- for a 150ML bottle. Even though I would recommend for you to start out with a 50ML bottle as a trial on how it reacts to your skin. You can get this at any drugstore, pharmacy, supermarket or online stores.
2. Facia Facial Bar:
Now facial bars can be a little tricky if you ask me. But on my journey to find a good face wash, my sister recommended this to me. This facial bar is infused with kesar and chandan, which are naturally moisturizing ingredients.
This facial bar gives you a subtle glow after continuous wash and it is amazing for dry skin. It naturally plumps up your skin, doesn’t leave a cracking feeling behind and removes dirt.
This product retails for ₹40 for a 25GM bar. You can get this at any drugstore, pharmacy, supermarket or online stores.
I got mine from a local pharmacy.
3. Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser:
This face wash for me is one of those that I actually forgot I used until I saw it again. This face wash was one of the first trial face washes I ever used that worked wonders for me. Although, after my trial pack ended, I never got the chance to re-purchase it again.
One thing about this face wash is that it contains salicylic acid also known as BHA (Beta hydroxyl acid). Salicylic acid is amazing for pushing all the gunk out of your pores and cleaning your face gently.
This product retails for ₹440/- for 200ML. You can get this at any drugstore, pharmacy, supermarket or online stores.
4. Vibrating Face Cleanser:
This is one of those products where I was extremely hesitant in getting because I had no idea on how it might react to my skin. But after using it once a week, for a month, my face really started clearing up.
This vibrating facial massager has really helped me with gently exfoliating dead skin cells away and with continuous use, I have felt that the vibrating motion of the cleanser has also helped me with plump and supple skin.
However, I do not recommend using this more than once a week as it can dry out your skin or lead to over exfoliation. I prefer using a vibrating facial cleanser over more basic facial scrubs (more on this in the future upcoming blogs) as they are gentler and the vibration intensity can be customized according to your preference.
This product retails in a variety of price ranges, and I have taken the liberty to find you one in this price range. https://www.amazon.in/ZALTAN-Cleansing-Anti-Aging-Exfoliate-Vibration/dp/B083GVGK8W/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=vibrating+face+cleanser&qid=1602404379&sr=8-1
5. Studiowest Marine (Seaweed and Aloe vera) Hydra Quench Face Mask:
When it comes to face masks, I like a good quality one every now and then. But sometimes getting a face mask can get expensive. I believe that doing a face mask literally solves all your problems. A face mask is like a good pair of shoes, you know it when you see it!
So what is so good about this face mask? This face mask contains ingredients like bentonite clay (which helps in drawing out any impurities from your skin), sodium hyaluronate (which is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid which goes deeper in your skin and helps you with anti-aging and nourishing your skin deeply), kaolin clay (which helps with excess oil production, soothes the skin and fights acne).
This mask retails for ₹495/- for 100GM. You can find this in any westside showroom or on https://www.westside.com/collections/studiowest-skincare-face/products/studiowest-marine-seaweed-aloe-vera-face-mask
6. Garnier Hyaluron Sheet Mask
For me sheet masks are extremely important in my daily routine. They allow me to unwind and relax. Every sheet mask has different properties and helps with different skin concerns. For me, my skin concern has always been hydration. That’s why whatever skin care product I divert towards has some hydrating element to it.
Garnier Hyaluron Shot Sheet Mask; Now this sheet mask is interesting. This is a mix it yourself sheet mask. You get two components in this packaging. One is the concentrated serum and the other is a plain sheet. When I first used this it took me a while trying to figure it out because there are quite a number of steps to follow. However, this sheet mask actually gives you your desirable results. It makes your skin look really plump and gives you an amazing glow. The best part, you don’t need much serum so there is going to be quite a lot left so that you can re-use it again.
This retails for ₹150/- and can be found on online stores easily. I got mine from https://www.nykaa.com/garnier-skin-naturals-fresh-mix-face-serum-sheet-mask-blue/p/492636?ptype=product&productId=492636&skuId=492636&pps=5
7. Himalaya Pure Skin Neem Facial Kit:
Now to Indians, the brand Himalaya is not unfamiliar. Together with containing the quite renowned face was (purifying neem face wash), this facial kit also contains the purifying neem scrub and the purifying neem face pack.
These 3 products work amazing with each other for a thorough home facial. The face wash cleans out any impurities in the skin, the scrub is very finely milled to avoid any over-exfoliation, and the neem pack deep cleanses for clear and acne free skin. For me this has been an affordable drugstore kit and something I look forward using every Sunday.
This retails for ₹190/- for three 50GM tubes. I purchased mine from https://www.nykaa.com/himalaya-pure-skin-neem-facial-kit/p/592517?ptype=product&productId=592517&skuId=592517&pps=2
8. Iba Aloe Vera Serum Toner:
This product is more like a fusion of serum and toner. It contains aloe vera, green tea, and cucumber extracts which are all soothing for any skin inflammation.
It instantly clears out your skin, hydrates, and tightens pores. I feel the best way to use this product is to take a few drops on your hand and pat it into your skin.
This product retails for ₹399/- for a 100ML bottle. You can get this from any online stores or from the website directly. I got mine from https://www.ibacosmetics.com/iba-advanced-activs-crystal-clear-skin-rejuvenating-aloe-vera-serum-toner.html
9. Pond’s super light gel moisturizer:
So I started using this product a month ago and I have to say I am hooked to this. The consistency of this moisturizer is gel like and it has a light aqua fragrance to it. It is perfect for day and night use as my skin feel soft and supple after every use.
This product contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin e and niacinamide. Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E simultaneously help with moisturizing your skin and niacinamide works great for helping fade out any acne scars.
This product retails for ₹299/- for 147GM. You can find this in your local supermarkets or online stores. I got mine from https://www.nykaa.com/ponds-super-light-gel-moisturiser/p/502719?pps=1&productId=502719&ptype=product&skuId=502717
10. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-touch Sunblock:
Whoever told you sunscreen isn’t important, they lied! Sunscreen helps you from UVA / UVB which are cancer causing rays. The best thing about this product is that it doesn’t leave a white cast and it doesn’t feel sticky on your skin. This is one of those “a little goes a long way” product because taking less than a pea size will cover your entire face. It is non-comedogenic; which means it won’t clog your pores and won’t rub off easily. This contains SPF 50+ which is the best for Indian skin tones.
This product retails for ₹199/- for 30ML tube. You can get this at any drugstore, pharmacy, supermarket or online stores. I got mine from https://www.nykaa.com/neutrogena-ultrasheer-dry-touch-sunblock-spf-50/p/5997?pps=1&productId=5997&ptype=product&skuId=2563
