Makeup can be fun. It makes you feel like a new person. But the standards in the beauty industry are so high that sometimes it can be tough trying to live up to its mark. We have a lot of “must haves” for makeup that gets a beginner overwhelmed. Here are a few clichés I have ruled out as a makeup beginner.
1. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE A FULL FACE OF MAKEUP:
Now unless you are a professional makeup artist and know your way around a brush, there is absolutely no need for you to have a full face of makeup EVERY SINGLE DAY. Sometimes just a compact powder and a lipstick is fine if you don’t have a lot of time in the morning to pack on a full face. Check out my post about “A guide to beginner friendly makeup routine” for some great tips and tricks.
2. YOU NEED TO HAVE A WINGED EYELINER:
Trust me when I say this, a winged eyeliner is the hardest to master. So spending more than 1 hour every day in the morning is just a wastage of time. For a beginner, if you want to try to master a winged liner, try doing it when you have enough free time and you do not have to run out of the door.
3. YOU NEED A PRIMER:
A lot of makeup artists don’t believe a primer is important. They do however, swear by a good skincare routine. If your base is well prepped, your makeup will sit beautifully on the skin. What I have noticed for myself is that whenever I apply a primer, my foundation looks weird and patchy, and I sure have used a lot of makeup primers.
4. YOU NEED TO MASTER CONTOURING:
Contouring isn’t easy. It takes up a lot of time and if you don’t have the right contour shade for your skin, you can end up looking like a muddy mess. Instead of contouring, I have noticed that a cream blush makes me look more rosy and awake.
5. YOUR HIGHLIGHTER NEEDS TO BE BLINDING:
If you are starting out with makeup, you do not need to have a blinding highlighter on your face, and you certainly do not need 10 highlighter pallets. If you want to apply a highlighter for functions, go with a more subtle glow because a blinding ones will make you look worn out in pictures.
That’s it for today guys, leave me a comment down below on more makeup clichés you have heard. Until then, adios, thanks for being here, and stay safe. Xoxo…………….
